My macrame journey
My very wise friend told me recently that I needed to find a creative outlet to help with stress - one that doesn't involve a computer. My mom has been exploring her crafty side but I have never felt particularly artistic or crafty, so I wasn't sure what direction to take. Then that same friend recommended we try the ARTisTry workshops hosted by the Hammond Regional Arts Center.

I bought mom and myself the Spring 2025 series, which featured (self) portrait drawing, air dry clay pots, an introduction to painting with pastels, and macrame mirrors.
I enjoyed myself immensely, though the pastel painting actually stressed me out. I am a bit of a perfectionist. However, it wasn't until the final class that I found my niche. There is something so soothing about the methodical process of tying knots to create a work of art.

After the macrame class, I bought The Macrame Bible by Robin Gough to learn more. I have mostly focused on my efforts on making plant hangers. I have made a few wristlet key chains. I hope to branch out and start doing some wall hangings. I have been building a Pinterest board of design ideas and have a few wall hanging gifts planned for my friends.
I have some of my designs featured below for sale. I am making them upon request - mostly to keep me stocked up in supplies so I can continue this passion project. Browse through the options and contact me if are interested in any of the pieces.
